I love this place. They are very professional and always helpful. Great place to buy gas and get your car fixed. Very knowledgeable about tires as well.

I bring my Lexus and BMW here for all sorts of maintenance work. Sure, it's a gas station and they don't have a fancy lounge, loaners, or shuttle service but they are staffed by honest, hard working guys. If you want to wait half an hour to check in your car for an oil change and smarmy sales types who talk too much, go to the dealer. Otherwise, come here. To be fair though, the Lexus Service Center in San Jose is great but it's too far from Menlo Park.

I made an appointment for a smog check and mentioned concern about waiting in the cold. When I got there, they had a chair waiting for me inside and they even brought in a heater. They also replaced a burnt out brake light without being asked and for no extra charge. They were very friendly and ran on time and the price with coupon was cheaper than the other two smog stations within 3 miles. I have never received such fabulous service from a gas station. I highly recommend them!

Very decent independent service shop. Reasonable rates, skilled mechanics, good communication. One of their greatest features is that you can pick up your car at any time until 9PM. I would recommend this shop for routine service of any vehicle.

If you're looking for a mechanic that won't rip you off, this is the place for you. A friend of mine and I have been going here for nearly two years and every time, we're told what the problem is, what the options are, and how much it will cost. They do their best to keep prices affordable. Even as women driving pricey cars, they still offer very reasonable pricing and I have never felt like I was getting the shaft. The staff is knowledgable and always friendly. I took my nephews car in for a new alternator and went down the street to Cindy's nail care while they were working on it. By the time I was done with my manicure / pedicure, they were done with the car. I love it when a plan comes together!

After my smog check appointment got cancelled twice in the same day (see my review of Precision Tune Auto Care in Redwood City), I drove around looking for a gas station who could do my smog check today. I found Menlo Atherton Shell and they were great! The guy behind the counter was friendly and honest. He told me they were wrapping up 1 car and would do mine next, within the next 10 mins. And their prices were reasonable; I believe 49 for the smog and 8 for the certificate. I sat down on their shaded bench and my car was finished in about 40 mins. 2 Thumbs up!
